Project 4, part 1: Energizing Tone

Statement:

From my perspective, the most precious commodity in the world is memories. For each piece, I elected to portray one aspect of memory: past, present, and future. My first piece, a portrait of Stan Lee, comes in the wake of his death this year. It hit me very hard, but I know his memory lives on in the past through his many characters, and Marvel itself. For the present, I offer a band of kiwis: reflective in some way of current events, such as that happening in New Zealand, and the fear the present holds for me. For the future, a classical green alien, representing a distant and exotic time, reaches for the promise of new memory: discovery.
